Battery Løkken Nord. A remnant of the defence works that the German occupiers built during the second world war. The defence works, better known as the Atlantic Wall, ran from North Norway all the way along the coast to the border between France and Spain. A more than 5,000 kilometer long defense line, which Nazi Germany during the Second World War along the west coast of the occupied territories in Western Europe has built to prevent an Allied invasion. The battery Lokken Nord was built in 1943 and modernized the following year. The original armament consisted of four Danish 12cm guns, which were replaced by German 12.7cm guns in 1944. Today battery Løkken Nord is for the most part located on the beach near Løkken. The battery consisted of 36 bunkers with a total crew of 123 soldiers. As a result of erosion, the bunkers are now mostly on the beach. Some are still accessible, others you can climb on. A place of interest on the beach.
