Bf 109 Over Burning Berlin

Every plane I paint carries me somewhere the ground never could. This canvas began with that same pull, that ache to be airborne. I chased the Messerschmitt Bf 109 across the sky, letting my brush bank hard with her as she tilts over a Berlin swallowed by fire. Her camouflaged fuselage catches the light, the Balkenkreuz sharp against olive and gray, the propeller a smear of speed I laid down in a single breathless stroke.

Below her, the city aches. I painted the Reichstag and the Berliner Dom standing proud yet wounded, the Spree winding through it all like a silver thread refusing to break. Smoke rises in thick, restless plumes, and I let those grays fight the fierce oranges and yellows above until the whole sky seemed to burn.

I love these machines. I love their grace, their fragility, the way they hold a moment of history in their wings. This is not a celebration of war but a meditation on flight and loss, on beauty caught inside chaos. Each impressionistic stroke is my heartbeat trying to keep pace with hers. When you look up, I hope you feel that longing too.
