Blue and red panorama vase

The ‘Blue-Red Panorama’ vase depicts a classically shaped vase rising from the right-hand side of a largely empty, dark background, with the left-hand half of the image deliberately left in deep darkness. The neck is covered in a cracked, glossy petrol-blue glaze that gradually blends into a warm, rust-red body with a fine craquelé pattern. A thin golden rim along the opening accentuates the shape, whilst focused light from above highlights the glossy, slightly rough texture of the glaze.

Warm red tones blending into cool blue, combined with a understated and exclusive design, lend this photo print a serene elegance that suits a calm, modern space perfectly. The spacious, dark void on the left-hand side makes the vase stand out all the more, whilst the cracked glaze creates a tactile, almost ceramic texture that subtly refracts the light. Every crack and every colour transition in the glaze is clearly visible, lending the composition a surprising depth of craftsmanship.

This piece draws on the tradition of Japanese raku ceramics, in which imperfections and cracked glaze layers are celebrated as a form of beauty. By positioning the vase at the edge of the composition and leaving the rest in shadow, a carefully considered interplay between presence and space is created. Nothing in the composition appears accidental; the empty space enhances the tranquillity surrounding the object.

This atmospheric work of art is a perfect fit for a minimalist, Japandi or eclectic interior where tranquillity and craftsmanship are valued. Available in various materials and multiple sizes, this vase retains its striking appeal on any scale.
