Breskens Lighthouse hidden in the dune grass

I captured “Breskens Lighthouse hidden in the dune grass” on a crisp morning atop the dike. Although the lighthouse stands along the road, on the dike it appears as if it is enveloped by dune grass.

The Nieuwe Sluis lighthouse near Breskens is the oldest surviving cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands. It has stood there for centuries, calm and steadfast at the edge of Zeelandic Flanders, where the land gradually gives way to the sea. In 2015, it was transferred by the Belgian government to the Breskens Lighthouse Foundation; since then, it has been open to the public and the light shines again with a range of approximately 14 nautical miles.

As wall decoration, this soothing landscape photo fits beautifully in a living room, study, waiting room, or hallway where you consciously want to create space and tranquility. Or to dream away for a moment with the memory of your wonderful holiday in Zeeland.

The soft blur in the foreground and the warm golden tones of the dune grass give this fine art landscape photograph its calm, minimalist character. Minimalist photography from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, captured on a quiet morning atop the dike.
