Color Burst Parrot

A close up parrot fills the frame, its curved beak sculpted in deep indigo and steel blue. Feathers explode in bold reds, oranges, yellows and turquoise, with fine streaks and tiny specks that add movement around the crown and cheek. Look closely and you will notice subtle white highlights on the beak and a ring of warm color in the eye that gives the bird an alert, curious expression.

The inspiration came from tropical wildlife and the feeling of standing near a burst of color in a rainforest. I wanted the portrait to feel like a single vivid moment, as if the bird turned its head and caught the light.

The atmosphere is energetic and optimistic, bringing warmth and a playful sense of freedom. For me it is a reminder to stay fearless with color and to take up space.

Layered watercolor washes and textured strokes build depth, while controlled splashes keep the edges lively without losing the clean silhouette. In an interior, it works as a statement piece for modern decor, kids rooms, creative studios, and any space that needs a confident focal point.
