Colourful glass rose

The ‘Glass Rose’ colourful painting depicts a full rose composed of countless shards of coloured glass. The flower stands on a golden stem with two glass leaves curving to the side, and the deep black surrounding it makes every facet glow. Warm shades of amber and gold glow at the centre, whilst the outer petals fade into cobalt blue, turquoise and violet. The construction is well worth a look. Each petal is a separate piece of glass with its own thickness and colour, folded and curled as if it had actually grown. Where the shards overlap, new shades emerge, and at the edges the light catches in sharp white accents. Some parts are clear and translucent, others milky and almost opaque. This contrast gives the flower depth and draws your gaze from the outside in, towards that warm golden centre.

So much colour in a single flower is best shown off against a neutral wall. In a living room, bedroom or hall, this piece will naturally become the focal point that everyone looks at. For those who love roses but aren’t so keen on traditional floral paintings, this offers a completely different kind of beauty. This rose will never fade and shimmers differently at every hour of the day.
