Colourful glass spheres – a panoramic view

This colourful ‘Glass Spheres Panorama’ painting depicts three glass spheres side by side, each filled with swirling clouds of coloured ink. On the left, violet and magenta dominate; in the centre, deep cobalt blue and purple blend together; and on the right, a cloud of pink and fuchsia swirls. Behind the spheres, everything is black, whilst the wet surface catches the colours in faint reflections.

The ink inside appears to be frozen at the moment of expansion. Smoke-like tendrils curl upwards, splitting into fine strands and colliding with the inner wall of the glass. Each sphere also catches a sharp reflection of light along its upper rim, lending a tangible quality to the material. Together, the three spheres form a series that can be read from left to right as three variations on the same theme, with the colours unfolding slightly differently each time. These rich shades of purple and pink against deep black lend the whole piece a luxurious feel. In a living room, a modern hallway or a stylish workspace, the work effortlessly draws the eye.

For anyone who loves colour, abstract photography or images that capture movement at just the right moment, this is a print that never ceases to fascinate. Three spheres, three explosions of colour, all frozen in time forever.
