Dance around the Sun

The work depicts an abstract, sun-like form that radiates out from a calm, round centre to cover almost the entire picture. Long, undulating bands in ochre yellow, golden brown and off-white move from the centre towards the edges. This creates a powerful sense of expansion, as if light, warmth or energy were constantly radiating outwards.
It is striking that the rays are never rigid or geometric. They meander, widening and narrowing like flames, leaves or flowing ribbons. It is precisely this organic movement that gives the work a playful character. Subtle light blue-grey edges appear amongst the warm colours. This small, cool accent is easy to overlook, but creates depth and makes some shapes appear to float almost on top of one another.
The central cream-coloured circle forms a striking point of stillness amidst all the movement. The composition seems almost to revolve around this core, evoking associations not only with the sun but also with a flower, a whirlpool or a stylised explosion of light. The combination of retro colours, abstract shapes and a graphic aesthetic is reminiscent of the optimistic design of the 1970s.
The work radiates warmth, freedom and positive energy and, thanks to its strong rhythm, makes a distinctively decorative statement.
