Delft Blue Candle Candelabra

‘Delft Blue Candle Candelabra’ depicts a blue-and-white candelabra with three long white candles. The central candle stands higher than the two on either side. Beneath the candles are wide dishes connected to the central stem by curved arms. Small, warm flames glow above the white candles. The candelabra stands alone against a deep, dark background.

Blue flowers and graceful tendrils adorn the rounded sections of the stem and the broad, circular base. The arms curl upwards and are adorned with small ornaments along their edges. The light emphasises the white surfaces and the upper rims of the dishes. Dark blue shadows bring out the rounded forms. The symmetrical composition lends the piece a sense of tranquillity, whilst the varying heights of the candles draw the eye upwards. At the base, a soft shadow connects the base to the surface beneath.

This decorative still life is well-suited to a dining room, living room or hall with classical accents and blue-and-white details. The work combines candlelight with the refined visual language of Delft blue. A minimalist interior allows the slender candles and rich ornamentation to stand out beautifully. From a distance, the balanced silhouette is particularly striking; up close, the floral motifs and small curls can be discovered.
