Elephant in Cubism

The ‘Elephant in Cubism’ painting brings the stately power of an elephant to life in a layered Cubist composition, in which angular planes in grey, cream, black and terracotta come together to form the animal’s face, creating a bold and timeless image that makes a calm, imposing impression. This remarkable work of art depicts the large, curved ears, the broad head and the trunk curling inwards at the base, all constructed from overlapping triangles and rectangles, whilst the matt layers of paint and sharp contrasts capture the layered nature of Cubism in an artistic and contemporary manner. The soft earthy tones of grey, cream and terracotta lend the piece a warm and understated aura that subtly yet powerfully reflects the elephant’s wisdom and calm.

The layered surfaces transform the elephant into an almost architectural image, in which every angle and every shadow emphasises the animal’s mass and weight without the composition becoming heavy or oppressive.

Neutral earth tones and a bold composition bring tranquillity and strength to a space. In a stylish living room, office or hall with neutral or earthy tones, this piece on the wall serves as a refined focal point.

Elephant enthusiasts and fans of Cubism will find their favourite combination here: a bold, geometric image in which strength and softness come together, revealing new perspectives with every glance.
