F14 Tomcat Thunder Over the Golden Horizon

I have always been captivated by the raw poetry of flight, and this painting is my love letter to the mighty F-14 Tomcat. When I lifted my brush to the canvas, I wanted you to feel that heart-pounding moment when steel and thunder tear away from the deck of a Nimitz-class carrier, climbing toward a burning sky.

The Jolly Rogers of VF-84 have always thrilled me, so I gave my Tomcat her proud markings, "201" on the nose, "AJ" on the tail, "NAVY" bold along the fuselage. I built the aircraft with thick impasto strokes, letting the paint catch every reflection and weathered panel line, as if you could reach out and touch cold metal.

My palette lives on contrast. Golden oranges pour from the low sun, wrapping the jet in warmth, while deep navy blues brood in the upper sky and churn through the choppy sea below. That tension between fire and shadow carries the emotion I feel every time a Tomcat roars overhead.

This is more than a machine to me. It is freedom, courage, and the eternal romance of leaving the earth behind.
