Glacier – abstract, blue and white

This abstract blue-and-white glacier painting brings the icy splendour of a polar cliff to life in a powerful and refreshing composition, in which towering walls of ice in white, sky blue and deep navy blue combine to form a rugged scene that feels both cold and dazzling. This remarkable artwork features thick, sharply defined layers of paint reminiscent of crumbling ice, with the texture created by the palette knife capturing the sheen and deep crevices in an artistic and contemporary manner. The ice-blue, snow-white and ink-blue hues lend the whole a luminous quality that subtly yet powerfully reflects the tranquillity of the far north. The vertical ice columns rise like towers side by side, whilst the dark crevices between them add depth and the light-coloured peaks at the top of the composition open up towards the sky.

The cool colour palette makes this piece a strong choice for a modern, Scandinavian or maritime interior. On the wall of a living room, bedroom or office, it brings a sense of freshness and space, whilst above a sofa or in a light-filled hallway, it lends the wall a calm, striking presence.

Nature lovers, travellers to the north and fans of expressive textures will find in this painting an icy beauty that refreshes any space.
