Hagia Sophia, Istanbul: an abstract panorama

The Hagia Sophia Istanbul abstract panorama painting brings this ancient monument on the Bosphorus to life in a sweeping and captivating panorama, in which the enormous dome, the slender minarets and the radiant sun on the horizon combine to form a dramatic scene that feels both mysterious and majestic. This exceptional work of art depicts the building beneath a heavy, shifting sky, with the swirling, thick brushstrokes in the clouds and the soft play of light capturing the city in an artistic and contemporary manner. The dark, amber and copper-gold hues lend the whole a glowing radiance that subtly yet powerfully reflects Istanbul’s rich history.

The round dome in the centre is framed on either side by the tall towers, whilst the rays of light on the right and the dark clouds on the left create an exciting balance that draws the eye across the entire composition.

Thanks to its deep, warm colours, this panorama suits a classic, rugged or contemporary interior. On the wall of a living room, dining room or bedroom, it adds atmosphere and depth, whilst above a sofa or in a spacious hallway, it gives the wall an almost cinematic quality.

Travellers, history enthusiasts and admirers of Byzantine and Ottoman architecture will find in this painting an impressive depiction of a city straddling two worlds.
