Honeybees on Hive frames - Honeybees on top of Hive-frame eating from damaged honeycomb. They hive is ioen for their hive inspection. The honeybees build honeycomb iabove the hiveframes. When the beekeeper opened the hive to check it some of the honeycomb broke open . The honeybees went right to work to reclaim their honey. They will clean up the honeycomb and only leave the wax behind.
We try not to disturb our honeybees often, however, to keep them healthy an inspection is required from time to time. The honeybees for the most part don't mind. A good beekeeper knows when and when not to open a hive. They look for pest and other things which could cause harm to the hive. If the the bees produce a lot of honey the beekeeper will ad another frame to allow the bees to collect more. This ensures that they can overwinter with enough honey reserves to eat.
Here in this picture the bees had build honeycomb in a poor location which caused some of it to break open. It is not a major problem since the honeybees will go right to work to reclaim the honey and clean the honeycomb.
