About "Icelandic evening glow"

About the artwork

Beautiful weather is something you have to enforce; this is certainly true of Iceland. On this evening at Lake Myvatn in the north of Iceland we succeeded. The whole day it had been heavily clouded but in the evening just in time a hole appeared in the clouds at the northwestern horizon. Just big enough for the sun to shine through and puth both the clouds and the lake and surrounding volcanic landscape into a spectacular red light.

This digital painting is an adaptation of a photograph taken from the southern shore of the lake, near Skútustaðir. The dark mountain we see rising on the other side of the water is a volcano, the Vindbelgjarfjall, over 500 meters high. On that side of the lake there is also still ice; it had not yet all melted at the end of April, the time of shooting.

The nice thing about sunsets near the Arctic Circle is that the light show often lasts quite long. But sooner or later the sun disappears below the horizon. Fortunately, we still have the photos, as well as this digital edit.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
