Lion, Cubism, brown

The ‘Lion Cubism Brown’ painting brings the power and dignity of a lion to life in a layered Cubist composition, in which sharp triangles and broad planes in copper, cognac, cream and black combine to form a bold and timeless image that immediately commands the viewer’s respect. This exceptional work of art features angular, overlapping planes that together suggest the silhouette of the regal head and mane, whilst the matt, finely textured layers of paint and the sharp contrasts between light and dark capture the animal’s power in an artistic and contemporary manner. The warm brown, copper and cream tones set against the deep black lend the whole a rich and earthy quality that subtly yet powerfully reflects the pride and authority of the king of the animals.

The geometric shapes tilt and merge, making the image seem to oscillate between strength and tranquillity, whilst the large, flat surfaces lend the composition a monumental, almost sculptural presence.

Earthy tones and bold shapes instantly lend a wall weight and character. In a rugged living room, study or hall featuring leather, wood or dark accents, this piece on the wall exudes authority and warmth. Leaders, dreamers and lovers of daring art will find in this lion a silent ally – an image that radiates courage and pride, revealing something new with every glance.
