Luxury blue and gold vase

This luxurious blue-and-gold painted vase depicts a tall glass vase in a deep sapphire blue, richly adorned with golden scrollwork. The shape flares out from a narrow base into a rounded body before tapering again towards the neck. Golden tendrils, spirals and fan-shaped motifs wind across the entire surface, appearing to lie in relief on the glass.

It is the ornamentation that gives this piece its opulence. The golden lines are finely ribbed and catch the light in tiny sparkles, as if the filigree had been applied by hand. In between, small round inlays have been incorporated, reminiscent of pearls. The blue glass itself is never uniform: in some places clear and translucent, in others cloudy and almost black, with a fine speckling that lends the whole piece depth. The dark, hazy background draws the vase forward without stealing the limelight. So much blue, accented with that warm gold, makes this piece one that stands out without being overbearing. In a classically furnished living room, hallway or dining room, it instantly adds atmosphere.

For anyone who loves antique glassware, gold decorations or objects crafted with skill, this is a print that remains a delight to look at. Each curl follows its own path, and yet the whole comes together perfectly.
