Modern Lady Justice

This modern painting of Lady Justice depicts a refined bust portrait of a woman with gracefully pinned-up blonde curls and round, elegant glasses that partially conceal her face. Around her neck and shoulders she wears an impressive, intricately detailed gold collar, rich in relief, ornamentation and gemstone-like accents, which flows into a draped robe with a rough, dark texture. On either side, two small golden scales hang from delicate chains – a modern, jewellery-like reference to the classical symbol of justice.

Rich golden hues against a deep black background, captured in a stylised and exclusive design, make this photo print a striking statement piece that lends allure and meaning to any space. The contrast between the polished gold and the rough, dark fabric of the robe creates a captivating interplay of textures, whilst every ornament, every curl in the hair and every facet of the spectacles has been rendered with striking precision. This detailed execution lends the composition a sumptuous, almost sculptural depth.

This work reinterprets the classical image of Lady Justice in a contemporary, high-fashion visual language, in which justice is depicted not with a blindfold but with style and self-assurance. By incorporating the scales as a piece of jewellery rather than as an attribute held in the hand, a fresh interplay between tradition and fashion is created. Nothing in the composition appears haphazard; every detail reinforces the stately, modern aesthetic.

This stately artwork is perfectly suited to a contemporary, luxurious or eclectic interior where symbolism and style converge. Available in various materials and multiple sizes, the allure of this portrait remains compelling on any scale.
