About ‘Molen Wijk bij Duurstede’ by Juliën van de Hoef

De Wijkse Molen ligt aan de rand van het oude centrum van Wijk bij Duurstede. De molen, die nog steeds volop in gebruik is, staat op de 13e eeuwse stadspoort, op de plek waar de Rijn overgaat in de Lek. Uniek is dat dit de enige walpoortmolen in Nederland is. Naast de molen, in het molenhuis, is sinds maart 2009 Abrona de Wijkse Molen gevestigd met een gezellig lunchcafé en een (cadeau)winkel. Abrona biedt hier een afwisselende werk- en dagbestedingsplek aan mensen met een verstandelijke beperking.
