Ochre-Blue Serenity

This refined figurative artwork depicts a stylised female form composed of bold blocks of colour and a rich, tactile texture. The work combines warm ochre and sand tones with deep cobalt blue and bright ivory white, creating a harmonious balance between warmth and coolness. The figure has been reduced to its essence, with facial features barely discernible and the emphasis entirely on form, composition and presence. The visible texture of the paint lends the work a sculptural quality. Each surface bears subtle traces of the palette knife, creating a vibrant interplay of light and shadow. The dark section of hair forms a powerful focal point at the top of the composition, whilst the deep blue on the left creates depth and visual tension. The soft pink hue on the shoulder introduces an unexpected tenderness that balances the geometric forms.

On closer inspection, a sense of tranquillity and introspection emerges. The figure appears both present and elusive, as if identity gives way to emotion and atmosphere. It is precisely this reduction that renders the image timeless and universal. The work fits perfectly into modern, minimalist, Japandi and Scandinavian interiors where simplicity, texture and refinement take centre stage.
