About "Pop Art Portrait with the Pearl"

About the artwork

Pop Art Portrait with the Pearl is my colourful ode to Vermeer's world-famous Girl with the Pearl Earring, but in a distinctly modern Pop Art style. Using bright areas of colour and strong contrasts, I have transformed this classic portrait into a contemporary eye-catcher that exudes power and elegance.

Where Vermeer brought subtle softness, I deliberately chose bold tones and a clean tessellation reminiscent of the iconic Pop Art movement. The girl's soft gaze remains, but is now framed by vibrant colours that give her a contemporary and fresh look. The pearl earring shines as a symbol of continuity - a timeless link between past and present.

This work combines my fascination with classical portraiture particularly the original of Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring with my love for modern Pop Art forms. It is a statement piece that fits perfectly into both minimalist and expressive interiors. Its balance between recognisability and abstract colour power invites dialogue and admiration.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
