Rhythm arranged in colour and space

Scattered fragments find a new order. Like the keys of an invisible instrument, the coloured rectangles arrange themselves within the vast space. A subtle visual rhythm emerges, boldly broken by a salmon-coloured accent. The work celebrates the imperfect geometry of the collage technique. The slightly irregular edges of the flat elements form a charming contrast to the strict diagonal arrangement. The generous negative space allows the muted colour palette to breathe, whilst the light-coloured block provides a deliberate visual anchor. This abstract composition brings a structured lightness to the space and emphasises a minimalist, modern design concept.

The conceptual basis of this work is the exploration of rhythm and pauses within the visual space. The inspiration stems from musical notation and the aesthetics of Constructivism, translated into a softer, imperfect materiality. The radical reduction to simple, irregular quadrilaterals and the dominance of empty space draw attention to the tension between the elements – a fragile balance kept alive by deliberate asymmetrical placement and the unexpected salmon-coloured outlier.
