Rhythm in Broken Silence

The work depicts an abstract interplay of movement, texture and subdued colour, built up from bold white brushstrokes that sweep across a warm beige background. Large curved lines intersect, partially disappear from view and reappear elsewhere. This creates a rhythm that has an almost calligraphic quality: as if a spontaneous gesture had been captured on a monumental scale. Amidst the light movements, weathered grey and almost black areas appear. They seem to reveal underlying layers of paint and lend the work a weathered character. Particularly in the centre, tension arises as broad vertical brushstrokes clash with fine, almost scratched lines. Some white swathes are full and opaque, whilst others are applied so thinly that individual bristles of the brush appear visible.
The composition has no fixed starting or ending point. The curved forms extend beyond the frame, making the work appear to be part of a much larger movement. At the same time, the soft earth tones and generous beige spaces create a sense of tranquillity.
This combination of abstract art, minimalist colours, organic lines and expressive brushstrokes makes the work both powerful and serene. From a distance, harmony prevails; up close, wear-like textures, subtle overlaps and small dark accents are revealed. It is precisely this contrast that gives the work its contemporary, tactile quality.
