Rhythm of Form and Line

The work depicts an abstract geometric interplay of circles, rectangles and triangles, composed of a subdued palette of sage green, cream and deep black. The forms are strictly organised, but the tactile texture of the paint prevents the composition from feeling distant. It is precisely this combination of geometric precision and handcrafted imperfection that gives the work its character.

Two large circular shapes on the right-hand side immediately catch the eye. They are divided into contrasting segments and intersected by horizontal and vertical lines. In the cream-coloured halves, fine concentric ridges run inwards like tree rings. Elsewhere, these lines change direction: horizontally, vertically or slightly irregularly. This creates a subtle rhythm that guides the eye through the composition.

Particularly striking is the interplay of repetition. The same colours and structures recur time and again, yet never in exactly the same way. At the bottom left, two triangular planes meet at a single sharp point, whilst the rounded shapes on the right introduce a sense of softness. In this way, the work constantly balances between round and angular, light and dark, order and variation.

This minimalist abstract art has clear affinities with modernist design and geometric art. The natural shades of green and warm cream colour soften the powerful black, creating a calm, balanced composition that feels both graphic and tactile.
