Sailing boat in high heels: surrealism

The ‘Sailboat in High Heels’ surrealist artwork depicts a transparent, glass high heel with a bright red sole, in which a pool of water has formed. In the middle of that pool, a small wooden sailboat with golden sails is sailing, as if it had ended up on open water. The smooth, glass-like texture of the shoe reflects the surrounding light and enhances the sense of a frozen, dreamlike moment, whilst the dark blue background lends the scene a mysterious, nocturnal atmosphere. Small droplets and a flowing puddle beneath the shoe reinforce the illusion that the water has just spilled over. The contrast between the shoe’s hard, sleek form and the flowing water makes the composition all the more fascinating.

This surprising combination of crystal-clear texture, a miniature sailing scene and a dramatic contrast of light creates a work of art that is playful, refined and visually intriguing all at once.

What drives this image is the playful shift in scale: a tiny little boat that makes a small puddle inside an elegant high heel feel like an endless, open sea, causing two worlds to merge in a surreal way.

For a bold, modern space where fashion and imagination converge, this artwork forms a striking centrepiece, and is available in various materials and sizes.
