Silence Has a Form

The work depicts an abstract composition of white, beige and sand-coloured planes, built up from thick, almost tangible layers of paint. The irregular shapes appear to float like loose fragments above a grainy surface. This creates a fascinating interplay between relief, void and material. At first glance, the composition appears understated, but it is precisely the subtle differences in texture that make the image rich and multi-layered. The white areas dominate and have rough, jagged contours. Some edges cast a faint shadow, causing the shapes to almost detach from the surface. In between, warm beige areas appear, softening the cool white and creating a natural balance. The visible scratches, tiny cracks and marks in the paint give the work a handcrafted character. What is remarkable is that no clear geometric order emerges anywhere: each fragment seems to have found its own place.
The work evokes associations with weathered walls, limestone, old plasterwork and worn layers of paper. At the same time, it remains distinctly modern. Thanks to its muted colour palette and organic forms, this abstract artwork fits perfectly into a minimalist, Scandinavian or Japandi interior. A piece in which it is precisely the imperfections that capture the viewer’s gaze.
