Impressive, snow-capped peaks in Rondane Natonal Park in Norway. I took the photo on a cold day at the end of May, it even snowed a little in the morning. The temperature was only a few degrees above zero. We had climbed the Sukkertoppen, a mountain of more than 1200 meters and from there I took the picture. The view from that point is truly magnificent. Very special to see those snowy, high peaks and the rugged landscape around it.
Rondane Nasjonalpark was established in 1962 and it is Norway's first national park. The ten highest mountains in this park are above 2000 meters. The area has a dry climate with a nutrient-poor soil, which makes it a rugged and rocky landscape.
In the photo you can see the Frydalen valley with coniferous trees and the typical green-yellow reindeer mosses. The valley is located at an altitude of 850 meters. On the left of the photo you can see a part of the river Frya running through the valley. More to the right of the photo you see a large cove in the mountain through which the waterfall Gyrafossen passes. There are also a few houses here and there in the landscape.
I enjoy taking pictures of nature, from colorful flowers to the vast landscapes of Scotland and Norway. Photos of European cities can also be found in my shop. Whatever photos they are, I create them with the idea that they really add atmosphere to your home or workplace.
