Sunbeams Bauhaus

The ‘Sunbeams’ Bauhaus painting brings the radiant energy of a rising sun to life in a bold and graphic composition, in which a terracotta semi-circle with fanning rays in orange, golden yellow and black combine to form a powerful scene that feels warm and retro. This distinctive artwork depicts the clean, wedge-shaped rays with a slight paper-like grain, whilst the soft vintage texture captures the sharp geometry in an artistic and contemporary manner. The rust-red, honey-coloured and deep black tones lend the whole a rugged appearance that subtly yet powerfully reflects the strength of a new day.

The sun rests like a heavy focal point on the dark strip of horizon at the bottom, whilst the rays fan out in all directions, guiding the eye in a regular rhythm of light and dark towards the edges of the image.

The warm colour palette with strong contrasts fits perfectly into a mid-century, bohemian or modern interior. On the wall of a living room, dining room or office, it brings sunny energy, and above a sofa or in a long corridor, it gives the wall a bold, rhythmic look.

Lovers of retro design, geometric shapes and warm colours will find in this painting a rising sun that sets every morning off on the right foot.
