Under the White Hat

The work depicts an elegant female figure largely concealed beneath a monumental, almost cloud-like white hat. The face remains deliberately hidden; only the lower part, with subtly drawn lips and a delicate outline, is visible. It is precisely this restraint that lends the portrait an air of mystery and self-assurance. The long neck and sloping shoulder line reinforce the graceful, almost sculptural appearance. The division of the background into two distinct areas is striking. On the left, soft cream and beige tones predominate, whilst on the right a deep, muted green area provides contrast. The warm brown skin acts as a unifying element between them. At the bottom, a loosely painted garment with black dots breaks up the subdued composition. The irregular dots and visible brushstrokes prevent the work from becoming too polished and give it a playful, handmade quality.

A striking detail is the small ear that barely peeks out from under the hat. The thin pink outline around the face, neck and shoulder is also only noticeable upon closer inspection. As a result, the figure seems almost to emerge from the background.

The piece combines a female portrait, minimalist fashion illustration and modern figurative art. The hidden gaze arouses curiosity: it is not her eyes, but her posture, lines and silhouette that tell the story.
