Waterfall in glass

This ‘Waterfall in Glass’ painting depicts a small, complete waterfall plunging deep into a glass bottle, with a distinct waterline separating the upper part of the bottle from the world below. Around the cascading stream, moss and ferns grow against dark rocks, whilst the water at the base converges into a meandering stream. The waterfall itself glows in a bright, almost electric turquoise, which contrasts sharply with the shadowy, dark-green surroundings. At the top, a rough cork stopper seals the bottle, whilst the glass above it appears misted over and somewhat dark, as if moisture had condensed on it.

That bright turquoise amidst so much darkness lends this still life an intense, almost mystical glow. It is precisely this play of light and the ingenious idea of encapsulating an entire waterfall within glass that make this piece a rare showpiece with a refined, precious appearance. Even the tiniest splashing droplets at the foot of the waterfall can be seen in vivid detail.

The scene is reminiscent of a hidden cave, a place one might only discover after a long journey through uncharted territory. Capturing such a'n dynamic element as flowing water in a still image creates an intriguing tension between movement and stillness. Despite the surrounding darkness, the scene remains soothing, as if the sound of rippling water were almost audible.

This mysterious miniature world brings together a touch of unspoilt nature and luxury in a single object. Available in various materials and multiple sizes, the glow of the waterfall retains its power on any scale.
