Wild teasel backlit

A portrait-format macro photograph of the spiny seed head of a wild teasel. Strong backlighting creates a luminous halo around the structure, whilst a delicate spider’s web is visible on the right-hand side.

This wall hanging depicts the architectural form of a wild teasel in direct backlight. The withered, spiny seed head is highlighted by the backlighting with a luminous halo that precisely emphasises the plant’s radial symmetry and prickly textures. On the right-hand side, a delicate spider’s web stretches across the frame, creating a subtle structural contrast to the robust, defensive structure of the teasel. The monochrome background, rendered in cool blue-grey and dark earth tones, completely isolates the main subject from its natural surroundings and lends the photograph a matter-of-fact, graphic quality.

In interior design, this wall art provides a striking, structural accent. The high-contrast colour palette blends organically into interiors that emphasise natural materials and the concept of biophilic design. The image is ideally suited to workspaces, medical practices or modern living spaces where a focused and consistent atmosphere is to be established.
