It's a bit of a grey and rainy day on the outside, but inside, within both their hearts, a warm fire burns. Arm in arm they stand, looking out at the sea, out at the future that unfolds before them -- at their hopes and their dreams, all that they plan to accomplish together as they walk through life, splashing barefoot in the surf.
She leans against him. He holds her close. The water is cool, brushing against their ankles, soaking his pants and her skirt, but they're not cold, because inside they're warm, glowing, intense with joy and contentment.
"It's just you and me," they say to each other. "Side by side, walking through life. Together.
"Just you and me."
