kingfisher on a glass branch

The ‘Kingfisher on a Glass Branch’ painting depicts a kingfisher that appears to be made entirely of coloured glass, perched on a glass branch. Its plumage consists of countless small glass pieces overlapping like scales, in deep blue shades on the back and warm orange-brown on the breast. Thin golden lines run between the feathers like leadwork, holding the whole piece together. The construction is reminiscent of stained glass, but shaped into a living creature. The long, pointed beak is rendered in translucent reddish-purple, whilst the dark eye glistens like a drop of polished glass. The amber-coloured branch on which the bird perches catches the light in warm tones and casts a soft reflection onto the background. The deep black surrounding it allows every reflection and every nuance of colour to stand out to its fullest advantage.

The stunning colours and exclusive design make this photo print a real eye-catcher that effortlessly holds your attention. Whether you hang it in the living room, your workspace or an atmospheric hallway, it brings a sense of refinement, colour and craftsmanship wherever it is displayed.

For anyone who loves birds, glass art or works where nature and craftsmanship intersect, this is a portrait that never ceases to fascinate. This kingfisher sits perfectly still on its branch, yet radiates all the colour of a summer’s day.
