Tips for use
  • Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.

About ‘stubborn grass’ by jan van de ven

the grass stubbornly holds out against the snow. it just sticks out above the white. the snow lies on a mound of ensiled grass at a farm in schijndel, brabant. everywhere between the layers of soil that lie against the ensiled grass, you can see icicles. and the snow has also made a beautiful pattern of lines.

i once was a journalist working for dutch regional newspapers. the writing kind, not a photographer then. in the last years of my carreer in newspaperland i ended up as a freelance photojournalist en photographer, combining photography and writing. and now i am retired and my profession has turned into a hobby again. still i have that journalistic approach in my photographic work. i do a lot of streetphotography nowadays. and i like doing reportage, landscapes and portraits.
