About Sander Poppe
Hello, my name is Sander Poppe. I am a landscape and seascape photographer, born in Zeeland and living in the Alblasserwaard region of the Netherlands. Nature, and especially the sea, is the common thread running through my life and photography.
Photography is more than creating a beautiful image for me. After being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and later facing other health challenges, my camera became a way to find peace and reconnect with the world around me. Being outdoors, watching the changing light and listening to the sea are the moments when everything feels right.
My photographs are often created in silence. Along the coast, in Dutch landscapes, or in places where water, sky and horizon meet. I work with natural light and subtle colours, believing that true strength lies in simplicity. My goal is not only to capture a landscape, but also to convey a feeling of peace, space and sometimes a touch of melancholy.
Although I now stay closer to home more often, the sea remains an important source of inspiration. Through my photography I try to create calm waterscapes, minimalist coastal scenes and quiet moments at sunrise or sunset. If one of my works speaks to you, I hope it may find a place on your wall as a daily connection to nature.
