Anatomical Heart

Anatomical Heart depicts a heart shape that represents human anatomy in a playful way. The heart is composed of large red volumes, small round spheres and pale pink tubular shapes. At the top, branched blood vessels extend upwards. A broad, light arch runs across the right-hand side. The delicate, soft surface texture gives the piece a woolly appearance against a warm grey background.

At the bottom, red, pink and dark burgundy spheres lie close together. Their varying sizes create a lively rhythm within the compact silhouette. The light comes from the top right, making the lighter parts clearly visible. Soft shadows gather on the left-hand side and beneath the heart. This lends volume to the rounded forms and makes the subject appear to lie slightly in front of the background. The understated setting enhances the contrast with the warm colours.

This artwork offers an unusual perspective on the anatomical heart as wall art. It would suit a workspace where science and creativity converge, or an interior featuring pink and red accents. The clear outline makes the subject recognisable from a distance. As you get closer, however, the fine details and the interplay between rounded and tubular sections come to the fore. The result is a colourful image with a surprisingly soft appearance.
