Honeybee Hugging Spiderwort Flower - it is this time of the beginning of summer where the Spring flowers are done blooming and the summer flowers are not quite opening yet and honeybees have a tough time finding pollen. The Spiderwort blooms late in the spring way into the summer. The honeybee here seems to almost be hugging the flower.
The view of the honeybee is from the top into the flower. It is that of an observer allowing you to see the bright yellow pollen on the honeybees knees. A beautiful macro photograph of a honey bee on a purple spiderwort flower.
Macro photography allows me to get close and intimate with my subject matter. It shows the beauty easily overlooked due to our busy lifestyles. My artwork gives the viewer a sense of calm, peace, and relaxation. A reprieve from daily stresses.
As a photographer who comes from the days of film, I do minimal post-processing. Much like I did in the traditional darkroom. I want the viewer to feel like they are right there where my photograph was taken. Creating a visual escape.
