Radiant square: Sunflower flaring out in droplets

By utilising the refraction of light, a single flower has been transformed into a bouquet! "Radiant Square: Sunflower Fading into Drops" is a photograph from the "Flowers in Drops" series.

This unique square wall decoration shows, in a macro photograph, a collection of droplets in which a sunflower is ‘reflected’.
It radiates a warm, positive summer freshness, with a chic look thanks to the dark background surrounding the sunflower.
Taking this photograph was quite difficult. Getting the right balance to make the droplets look so beautiful was quite tricky. And once I’d managed that, the next challenges arose, such as the light, distances and sizes of the droplets. The moment everything was exactly as I wanted it, the photo had to be taken quite quickly because the droplets were slowly merging. But I’m very happy with the result. If you zoom in on the photo, you can clearly see how rich in detail it is.
Thanks to the colours and simplicity of this photo, it works well as wall art in a variety of interior styles. For example, this piece would look stunning mounted on aluminium in a bedroom with a modern interior, as an eye-catcher in the living room, or as a cheerful, sunny piece in a waiting room!
