About ‘There he stand’ by Sander Poppe

On the southwestern tip of the island of Portland in Dorset, you will find one of England's most iconic coastal formations: Pulpit Rock. This impressive rock formation, formed by centuries of erosion, towers high above the choppy waters of the North Sea and attracts many nature lovers and photographers every year.

During a beautiful evening, I was treated to an unforgettable sunset. The warm light of the setting sun fell obliquely across the landscape, causing the distinctive sidelights to cast a magical glow over the rocks. At the same time, the rising tide rose, causing the waves to pound vigorously against the rocks, intensifying the sound of the sea.

Dorset's rugged coastline, culminating in Pulpit Rock, offers a perfect combination of natural beauty and photographic opportunities. As the sky filled with hues of orange, pink and gold, rock and sea together formed a picturesque scene you simply cannot forget.

Whether you come for a brisk walk along the cliffs, to experience the dynamics of the tide, or simply to enjoy the quiet power of nature - Pulpit Rock on Portland remains a place that surprises you time and again. A must-see for anyone visiting Dorset who wants to capture the sheer coastal beauty of England.
