About Benslingen
It all began a few years ago with macro photography of falling water droplets and
subsequently oil droplets on water.
Before that, I was a photographer who only took figurative and realistic images.
Landscapes, evening photography, nature, sport, family, holidays.
There’s nothing wrong with that, though.
I’ve been taking photographs with a DSLR since 1985; first analogue and, since 2010, digital.
I’m self-taught.
I draw my abstract images mainly from damage to metal, wood, graffiti and in nature.
Intentional camera movement (ICM), double exposure and macro photography are useful tools for this.
The courses ‘The Wonderful World of Abstract Photography’ and ‘A Journey of Discovery in Abstract Photography’,
which I took at the Academy for Abstract Photography, have clearly given me a boost with regard to my interest in abstract images.
Not only in photography, but also in painting.
A whole new world opened up for me there too.
