Painting Arnhem Trolleybus John Frost Bridge. Semi-abstract. Acrylic paint.
Hi! My name is Andrea Trichopoulos from Arnhem, Holland. My works are colorful, and while somewhat abstract, are true-to-life. Things don’t always turn out according to plans. Sometimes that’s nice. Sometimes it’s not. When one door closes, another one often opens. A completely new world opened up for me when I was forced to let go of my plans. During my study of Psychology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, Holland, I was overwhelmed by extremely painful cluster headache attacks. After various procedures and a long search for the cause, medical specialists in Belgium were able to help me by means of “deep brain stimulation.” I have a neurostimulator planted in my body and have found a way to live my life differently. Something that felt hopeless (and which I thought would have a very negative effect on my life) made me realize how happy I can be when I create artwork. In my paintings, you will find a “minus” and a “plus” sign. For me, this symbolizes the art of turning a negative (-) experience into something positive (+). It has a double meaning for me because I needed a battery (+ -) to make that happen. I am very grateful that I have found my passion and hope to please people with my artwork.
