Beach Gang

by INGO

Do you remember those summer days when time stood still and happiness lay in a pile of wet sand? *Beach Gang* captures that pure, unfiltered sense of youthful freedom and spontaneous chaos. Two boys have spent hours building a monumental sandcastle, complete with towers and walls. But just as they’re putting the finishing touches to it, their faithful four-legged friend—an enthusiastic Jack Russell Terrier—decides that the castle is the perfect spot for a wild digging spree. One is scared out of his wits, the other bursts out laughing, and the dog? He’s thoroughly enjoying his very own sandstorm. An energetic, cheerful artwork full of humour that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

This work is executed in a powerful Modern Impressionist style. A conscious decision has been made to move away from sleek digital perfection; instead, the focus is on dynamism and experience. Through the use of the impasto technique—visible, thick and expressive brushstrokes—the splashing sand, the rolling waves and the dramatic evening sky take on a tangible, raw energy. The light of the setting sun creates a beautifully warm contrast with the deep, purple-blue hues of the sea.
