Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is a park in Indonesia. It is located east of the town of Malang on the border of the Malang and Lumajang regencies and to the north Pasuruan, Probolinggo in East Java province on the island of Java. Within the park is a vast mountain massif called the Tengger Massif. This area is an active volcanic complex surrounded by a sandy plain (the Sand Sea). The massif contains Java's highest mountain Semeru (3,676 m), four lakes and fifty rivers. The park is named after the Tengger kingdom.
