Creeping ice on the IJsselmeer by Jurjen Veerman

Jurjen Veerman Profile picture As in 2012, there was once again crushing ice along the Frisian IJsselmeer coast. I took this photo off the coast of Hindeloopen. No metre-high mountains of ice like in 2012, but still very much worth taking photos of. Because the ice was no longer reliable, I was forced to take the photos from a small breakwater; lying on the basalt blocks and the tripod at the lowest position to be able to photograph the ice from the lowest possible angle. The light was not optimal that day but the dark skies create strong contrasts with the light ice.
