If you look quickly you can see 2 elephants in this photo. If you look closer, you can see that there is also a very small elephant walking through the grass. When I knew I was going to Africa, a picture like this was a dream for me, I wanted to photograph big animals with the sunrise in the background. There was only 1 morning when I could realise this image and then everything just had to coincide. As a landscape photographer, I know that it is not a foregone conclusion that all the circumstances are right, but for me on this morning everything came together. It gave a very special feeling to see these African elephants pass us by undisturbed during sunrise through the landscape of Maasai Mara. For me, this one photo symbolises a wonderful week in Kenya and I will always look back on it with a warm feeling.
