Flamingo in balance

by Greta Lipman

This painting depicts an elegant flamingo in soft powder and earth tones, painted in acrylic on canvas. Although the flamingo is often associated with bright pink colours, a calmer and warmer colour palette has been deliberately chosen here. The subtle shades of sand, blush, taupe and soft peach give the work a serene and dreamy feel.

The flamingo stands calmly in shallow water, radiating tranquillity, balance and refinement. The bird’s graceful posture forms a beautiful contrast with the loose brushstrokes and decorative circular patterns in the background. These patterns are reminiscent of mandalas or the sun’s reflections on water, lending the painting a spiritual, almost meditative atmosphere.

The inspiration for this work stems from the beauty of simplicity and gentleness in nature. It is not the flamingo’s striking colour that takes centre stage, but rather its graceful form, the tranquillity and the harmony of the whole. As a result, the painting fits beautifully into a warm, modern or bohemian interior.

Original painting in acrylic on canvas, size 40 x 50 cm.
