Green Beacon, Farol de Barcelona by Piermarco Raimondo

Step into a striking contemporary seascape with this captivating photograph, 'Green Beacon.' This unique piece plays with selective color, rendering the expansive ocean and a sturdy concrete pier in timeless black and white, while allowing the vibrant emerald green and white stripes of the lighthouse to pop with compelling intensity.

The composition draws the eye along the strong leading lines of the pier, guiding you towards the lighthouse standing sentinel at the harbor entrance. On the left, a solitary sailboat glides across the water, adding a dynamic element and a sense of freedom against the muted tones. The contrast between the stark textures of the concrete and the endless horizon creates a powerful visual narrative.

This image is more than just a view; it's a statement piece that evokes a sense of both classic maritime heritage and modern artistic flair. It captures the essence of a working coast, highlighting navigation and journey, all while offering a refreshing perspective through its selective color treatment.

Perfect for contemporary spaces, nautical-themed decor, or for those who appreciate photography that challenges traditional perspectives.

The picture was taken during a Lighthouse expedition around Europe in 2025.
