A breathtaking mountain panorama spreads out before my eyes as I stand on the Zeigersattel and let my gaze wander over the Allgäu. It's a gloriously beautiful summer's day, with the sun shining down from the azure sky and bathing the gentle mountain meadows in a lush green colour. The scent of alpine herbs fills the clear air, while the majestic summit of the Höfats, a landmark of the Allgäu Alps, rises in the distance at 2,259 metres.
To the left are the rugged rock faces, surrounded by unspoilt nature, and to the right the view leads down to the sparkling Seealpsee. The crystal-clear water of the lake reflects the surrounding mountains and the sky and invites you to take a refreshing dip. The Seealpsee is nestled in a picturesque basin and lends the landscape an almost mystical aura.
