About "Landing stage at sunrise."

About the artwork

A jetty in Sil's harbour behind the dyke near De Cocksdorp on Texel during sunrise. The breakwater coming into the photo from the left and the jetty coming from the right give depth to the photo and direct the eye to the horizon. The photo was taken with a long shutter speed, making the clouds seem to move and come straight at you. Also, the long shutter speed made the water have a nice smooth surface.

The whole thing makes for a soothing image. Every time I see this picture, it gives me a soothing feeling and I am back for a moment in the place where I took this picture.

This work fits particularly well in a study, because it radiates tranquillity. Grab a cup of coffee or glass of tea and move to this scaffolding in your mind to unwind.

People who care about the Wadden Sea and the North Sea coast will regularly return to a place like this in their thoughts when they see this work.

About Laurents ten Voorde

Laurents was born in 1962 in Hengelo (the Netherlands). He took his first pictures when he was 10 years old with an AGFA clack camera, but the real love for photography started in 1979 when he bought his first SLR camera.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
