The Mont Blanc group is an imposing mountain range in the western Alps in the border triangle of Switzerland, France and Italy.
Mont Blanc, the highest mountain peak in the European Alps, is part of this mountain range.
Although the massif has the highest peak in the Alps, only relatively few other peaks in this small and compact group rise above the four-thousand metre mark. No matter from which direction you look, the massif almost always towers impressively above all the other peaks.
Here, the mountain peaks tower directly above the small town of Chamonix in the French Alps.
